Beyonce Scores 50 Shades of Grey Official Trailer

I was surprised to find a 15-second teaser trailer of the worldwide literotica-turned-soft porn-movie 50 Shades of Grey on Beyoncé’s Instagram page.

Makes sense because Queen B has 14 MILLION followers on Instagram and they’re most likely already fans of the book. Also, she apparently scored the trailer with a slowed down sexy version of Crazy In Love. The official trailer was released last night. Don’t worry, it’s SFW!

I only know Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele) as one of the undercover cops in 21 Jump Street and as the girl Justin Timberlake’s character slept with in The Social Network. She’s cute! I’m curious to see how it turns out! I didn’t like the book, stopped reading after the first one.

Uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh oh no no

The Yolanda Typhoon death toll has reached 6,201 according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) as of yesterday. More than 16 million individuals have been affected by the typhoon with over 4 million people displaced.

I just want to remind everyone that helping out isn’t just a fad, you can always donate a portion of your salary or your daily coffee money (it’s okay to sleep you know?).

BPI e-Donations makes it easier for us to share our blessings. No more excuses about being too busy to run to the bank, etc. Admit it, you’re online for the better part of the day so please take the time to check this out and donate whatever amount you can. Yup, I’m guilt tripping you!! Haha, sorry I’m not sorry!

One of the foundations you can donate to is TEN MOVES

TEN Moves is a campaign led by the Philippine Business for Social Progress and the League of Corporate Foundations in response to the Department of Education’s appeal to the private sector to help address the country’s severe classroom shortage. TEN Moves – which also means The Entire Nation Moves – urges 2 million Filipinos to donate P10 a day for 10 months to help build 10,000 classrooms nationwide.

TEN Moves and iGive.ph have partnered to raise funds for the reconstruction of classrooms in Typhoon Pablo and Typhoon Yolanda affected areas. Together, we hope to mobilize resources to help rebuild classrooms in Mindanao and Visayas. All donations during this period will be received and managed by Philippine Business for Social Progress.

I donated a lump sum of P3,000, the total amount if I set aside 10 pesos every day for a total of 10 months! Again, if more Filipinos do the same, we can build a LOT of classrooms! I don’t think 10 pesos everyday is too much to ask from you, is it?

Spread the word about e-Donations by sharing this blog post with your family and friends!:) Thank you!!<3

Lose The Wait

“I want what I want when I want it”

My dad would always used to say that quote whenever we’d have tantrums as kids. It made us feel silly and it put us back in our place – we didn’t want to be Veruca Salt crying about not getting another pony. My parents were not raising brats.

I am so glad to have grown up in my family where things are not simply handed to us. We are taught that we get what we give. We reap what we sow.

With everything becoming digitized and most things accessible at a click of a button, it’s very seldom that we remember how lucky we are. How incredibly slow was dial-up Internet?! Haha!

Yes, of course, it’s fun to be spontaneous but life is so precious, you shouldn’t be wasting it on waiting. I believe in planning out certain things to avoid having to wait because you can’t expect to get things your way without lifting a finger. It’s the modern age, you can move mountains by lifting literally A finger – singular – kaloka. I call restaurants to make reservations, check movie schedules in different malls before making concrete plans, ask a store if they have a product I’m looking for before making the drive – technology is there for us to learn to make plans and be responsible, not to make spoiled brats of us!

This is why I am very proud to be a BPI 24/7 brand ambassador. I love brands that embrace our evolving world and use technology for good! I’ve been using their website, BPI Express Online, since the day I opened my first bank account (I think that was in 2005?). I do almost everything online – pay bills, transfer funds, track expenses, etc.

Still, there are some transactions that I want to make inside the actual bank. Have you been to the bank during peak hours? I swear, the line is CRAZY. BPI has made “lining up” easier by giving people queue numbers so you don’t have to stand up the whole time. Even better, BPI Express Online has BEA (BPI Express Assist) Online! You can easily set an appointment in 3 easy steps! Get your queue number online and just show up at the time you prefer!

You definitely make things easy, BPI!;)

Help For Halloween?

This happens every year. I tell myself I’m going to have an awesome costume but end up buying last minute things and preparing on the day itself!!

I must say though even if it’s always last minute, my costumes aren’t so bad.

Halloween 2010 – Tiger Lily (Peter Pan)

Halloween 2011 – Poison Ivy (Batman)

Halloween 2012 – Misty (Pokemon)

YES, I know Misty’s pokemon is Togepi but ain’t nobody sellin’ no Togepi stuffed toy, K?!? Pikachu’s just there so people get that I’m a character from Pokemon. Surprisingly, only a few people knew who Misty was. What a sad sad world. Or maybe I just went to the wrong Halloween parties. Haha.

So I need a little help for this year! What should be my costume??

I have always been a big fan of Pokemon – the TV series, the movie, the card game, the video games, THE THEME SONG!! Haha! Here’s an excerpt of my chat with Elmo yesterday. We just both got the new Pokemon games on Nintendo 3DS. Total nerd out.

Can I also over-share that I am PMS-ing at the moment so when Jim teased me about Pokemon last night, I actually cried and started a fight with him? Seriously. I said “Can’t you just be happy that your girlfriend would rather play Pokemon than flirt with other boys?!” It’s the dumbest fight we’ve ever had. Hahaha.

Tricia’s 150 Style Essentials for Every Girl!

I don’t know when, where or how exactly I met Tricia. We were batch mates in Ateneo de Manila University but I don’t think we ever really bumped into each other back then. I “met” her through Tumblr back in 2009 (?) – back when fellow Tumblarity addicts RA Rivera, Ramon Bautista and I were fascinated with how adorable she was!!

She was very Japanese, very “kawaii” – we even tried to recreate her Asian poses…

…and failed miserably

I officially met Tricia when she shot me for her cousin’s famous t-shirt design!

She was pleasantly easy-going! I was happy she didn’t have an annoying squeaky voice that I admittedly expected her to have. Haha!! On the contrary, Tricia has a very low voice and I really like her laugh. What I love about this girl is that she is so down-to-Earth. She doesn’t do what she does to get famous, she does what she does because she is passionate about it! She even curled my hair and I saw her wall where she takes all her fabulous selfies! (#fangirl?!) She has professional lights and everything because before anything, Tricia was set on becoming a photographer.

Her early blogging shows her documenting different people on campus and interviewing them about style. I guess she never expected for people to demand to see more of her in front of the camera, but it happened and so she gave the people what they wanted!

I went to Tricia’s book launch yesterday! I am so proud of everything she’s accomplished and I wanted to show my support. I’m not kidding when I say I really wanted to go because my car was coding so I even switched with my sister before heading to National Bookstore in Glorietta.

I’m so proud of you, Tricia!! Oh and just to let everybody know, I think I mastered Asian posing back in 2010 with the help of my mentor. Haha!

Follow Tricia’s blog: http://blog.triciagosingtian.com/ and get her book called 150 Style Essentials for Every Girl in National Bookstore :)

#SpellSaabBookClub: All’s Fair in Blog and War

When I got an e-mail from author Chrissie Peria about how she wanted to send me a copy of a book she wrote and published herself, I actually went AWWW. It was for two reasons: she published her own book and the cover is actually really nice!!

It’s a dream of mine to publish my own book so whenever I hear about self-published authors, I give them a telepathic high five. I have been approached by publishers but I’m still hesitant because I need more content. I’ve also heard horror stories of publishers from hell who practically force you to cry yourself to sleep dreaming about how ugly your book cover is. Really, try going to the local section of a book store and laugh at how grossly boring 80% of the book covers are.

That’s why I applaud Peria for doing this on her own (with the help of good friends, of course)! It’s a very short story with less than a hundred pages about two travel bloggers, Five Cuevas and Jesse Ruiz, who don’t get along as soon as their first meeting. They are one of four bloggers who are invited to an all-expenses paid trip to Macau so they may include the city of China in their respective blogs. It’s a romance novel about wrong first impressions and how no matter how hard you deny liking somebody, you won’t be able to fool yourself!

Another awesome thing that the author did was to make the characters their own social media accounts! Readers are able to follow them beyond the book!

Find out if Five and Jesse end up together by reading All’s Fair in Blog and War by Chrissie Peria! I am giving away a special gift pack for 1 winner and e-books as consolation prizes for 4 winners!

If you’d like your own hard copy of the book, you can visit Chrissie’s blog: thewriteside.kingdomcow.net. The e-books are available on Amazon, Smashwords and Kobo!:)
